Thinking skills- What are they? Even a layperson would know that a thinking person has • better decision making skills • better problem solving skills But, when we look at thinking skills in an academic or work situation they can mean more observable component skills such as - • Instruction comprehension • following a procedure • analyzing, redefining and pinpointing a problem • draw inferences from statistical/ word data • formulating hypotheses and testing • plan a course of action • negotiating on a deal and more …. We know that some are good at these and some continue to be gropping in the dark. If a set of thinking skills make some stand apart, let’s see what they are………… I will present a few example problems here These are very basic problems intelligible to even the beginners
